I occasionally fantastise about being grade 8 and getting into a local amateur orchestra, but I know and happily accept I may never get that far. But I keep working at improving because I enjoy it. Simple as that! Jojo, I hope you enjoy getting back into making music. May I be slightly mischievous and say that have you noticed alot of violin players also enjoy playing recorder as well.....? I practise the double bass to remain a competent member of my orchestra, which has a concert on 20th October. I practise the piano because I shall be playing the Kegelstatt Trio (with friends in private) next January. I don't know whether practising makes me a better player, but I know if I didn't I would become a worse one.
