My hope for tomorrow is not to wake up to the words Hampshire up to a foot of snow again like I did this morning. In fact I'm hoping that we don't feature in any of the weather chaos stories at all tomorrow. Know what you mean - our town was mentioned on the BBC news in conjunction with the words 28cm of snow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/snow.gif) The reference to Odiham and skiing conditions was the final straw. But it has been like that! I was quite excited that Odiham had made it on to the BBC website, let alone the national news. I've got friends in Alton who were out snowboarding down the big hill next to the main road! Look North weather forecast about to be on from my village!!! My hubby's about to go ask if he can get to Leeds tomorrow. He could be on TV!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Edit: Oh dear - didn't show a number of our village in a very good light.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) oh dear what did they do....snowball the reporter? My hope for tomorrow is not to wake up to the words Hampshire up to a foot of snow again like I did this morning. In fact I'm hoping that we don't feature in any of the weather chaos stories at all tomorrow. No not quite. Leapt about like loons waving and yelping and shouting hI!!! at the cameras. Some were phoning home on mobiles saying they were on the telly. You could hardly hear the report... Oh dear. Snowballing the reporter so long as good-naturedly would be funny at least. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Oh dear. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I hope my nephews behaved. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) It seemed to be girls in the main I hate to say..... |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) All the hills here in Alton are easily snowboarding hills! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) My sister just walked up a hill to get back home, to warm up her hands by the fire, before going to somewhere else for more snow! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I don't understand why she is getting so cold, when the house is warm enough! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/winter_brr.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I walked to the centre of Alton yesterday skis probably would have helped. So many kids were being pulled along the pavements on sledges. I'm getting a bit bored of being stuck now. |

I wonder what 'the symbolic matrix in which the I is precipitated in a primordial form before is is objectified in the dialectic of identification with the other and before language restores to it, in the universal, its function as subject' is.
I hope I never have to read Lacan again after this essay. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) The only thing I can think of is the infant brain, but don't mind me - I know absolutely nothing about Lacan. |

That sounds right - Lacan was a psychologist... this extract is about the mirror stage (the stage of development when the baby recognises itself in a mirror... but that's about as far as I've got with it... |

I'm afraid I do understand this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) (I have a Masters in English (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ). Doesn't mean I would want to read Lacan again either though! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Much prefer Derrida... although you can never escape 'the other'!!! |
