That's it sorted.

But what about Felicity and Asterixia???

Mr Black is babysitting. Music Teachers do not have anything else to do with their spare time. It's not as if they need to rest or enjoy themselves with other adults. If they wanted to do that then they should get proper jobs.
Mr Black is very happy to babysit any night. He does not need to be paid. He likes spending time with Felicity. She is very special.

Asterixia can stay in the shed.

I've had another look at the programme for last Saturday and there is room for more players to come to the next concert.

Would love to come if there's still room. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Gedall40 & SueHM - do you fancy playing a movement from a trio? I have loads of lovely music for this combination & would happily photocopy a selection & post it out to you so that you can make an informed choice? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Thanks

....... - I will gladly give up my place to a Newbie if we fill up (which looks likely at the current rate of applications!). I know I have benefited from attending these events and I would like to encourage anyone new to give them a try.

Good point. Yes, give priority to new/first time performers, scotliz. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I feel that to be fair to everyone applications will have to be on a first come, first served basis.

Will you publish a list here of where we are now, then, scotliz, and update it as we go along until the event is full?
Not only do we all, then, know where it is going but I bet it will generate a lot of interest in one of the best events on the forum. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/woot.gif)

I too would like to come, please, and both dates are currently free for me.

Likewise. I'd be happy to accompany without doing a piece on my own. Forum events are fun to be around even without playing a solo.

Scotliz
- is the limit because of space or time - if time we could all just do one piece?
If space, well someone else may know the solution? Not thinking of standing on shoulders or sitting on laps, though.

There was plenty more space at the venue, I think. Perhaps we could limit the time rather than the numbers attending, just one piece each, or one piece and or an ensemble? I’d like to come please, and happy to help with logistics/organisation etc if required.

Yes -perhaps more duets or trios - for example I can get some Flute/Clarinet/Piano pieces. Or a wind ensemble perhaps.
scotliz and I intend to play together so we would just need to find a flute to practice with us and we have three performances in the space of one - and possibly more fun?
And some players might also then get two ensemble pieces!

Yes, I think the answer is to limit time and I will try to include everyone.

Thanks for the offer of help SueHM.

Just off to return the venue keys and check out date availability. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It looks like a good idea and I guess we may find a couple of small ensembles will take the place of more than one solo piece by performers. That way everyone gets a chance to play. Plenty of time to sort them out - I have other things on my mind at the moment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) .

I'd very much like to come to the next one, for those arriving early could we also do some playing at the end of the morning although I know not everybody would be there

Informal playing like this has always been a part of the Surrey and Stalybridge Adult Learner's events.
Morning usually include people coming together in small groups to play just for fun (as opposed to rehearsing concert items) as well as rehearsing for the afternoon and socialising.
How much of this goes on depends on what people decide to bring with them among other things.

This far ahead, I can do as many piano parts as required provided they are not insane (insane = Hindemith, Stravinsky, etc. Anything common practice is manageable and if not, is fakable) and provided I get the music early (several months ahead). If anyone needs a pianist, feel free to get in touch.
