Sharing a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with Mrs Toner over dinner. Very nice it was too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sing.gif) It makes you sing? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Must have been good! |

Getting a compliment from my teacher about my tone when i played on a scraped 3 and a half reed. He thinks i can play on a 3. It doesn't half hurt my lip though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Going to a kennels near Doncaster and collecting Alfie - our latest rescue dog. He's a Bedlington terrier, and so far he's proving to be a boon companion for Monty (our dog who is about 12 years old, stone deaf and a little set in his ways).

Aw, hope he settles in ok (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Have been informed that I'll get a full refund and a free return trip courtesy of East Coast due to the delay we had getting back from Benslow (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Does anyone watch salvage hunters on Quest? I've just been on Drew Pritchard's website and want to buy sooooooo much of his stuff lol -
http://www.drewpritchard.co.uk/newstock.php Very into the Gothic lanterns, marble fireplace, opaline globes, petrol station lights, x frame chair, victorian oak hall chairs, french mirror and the glazed double doors. Now just to buy an old manor house in which to put it all in ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) In reality, I'll probably stick with my 1980's semi and buy an E-type ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Looks like the junk in my garage might be worth something after all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) As for the manor house idea, I would forget it unless you don't mind draughts, the lack of double glazing (not allowed by EH), being cold from October to April, if you can afford the heating bills and are happy to argue with English Heretics every time you want to put a picture, or calendar on the wall or hang curtains. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Oh, and don't get me started about the pineapples on the either side of the gate that English Heretics insist must only be replaced with hand carved York stone at a cost of GBP 20,000 each, and not with a cast replacement that looks identical to everybody else in the world. And their refusal to allow C 20th century scaffolding when re-pointing is needed. (They even specify the cement, mortar and lime mix). There is also the matter of not being allowed to replace stolen lead with a lead lookalike. Never mind that the interior is being destroyed by rainwater whilst they procrastinate for nine months. Their job is "to preserve the originality and historical authenticity of the building" - even if it does fall down as a result. Believe me, you just don't want to go there. Maybe forty years ago, but not now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) SB |

Gosh, sounds awful! In all honesty, I'm not really into houses and there are far too many cars to buy firstly!
I do have a friend who owns a Grade II listed property (I think it's a II) and he has had some bother with it. |
