There's something quite appropriate about that, don't you think? Actually it ought to drag on for years and years. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

"Starseeker" by Tim Bowler. (He must be a pianist. Does anybody know?)
Then downloaded some Ravel, Grieg piano music. I am enjoying playing Ravel's Pavane (on the death of an infanta).

I'm not sure HanonMum, but Tim is a lovely man who gave me a lot of guidance through my school years after we met at a book signing and exchanged email addresses. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Starseeker is my favourite book of his. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I thought I would drag this thread up from the depths as I have just started a rather gruesome but fascinating book by Tom Wolf - "The Right Stuff." It's about test pilots and astronauts and is written in the same racy American style as "The Bonfire of the Vanities" - which I thoroughly enjoyed as a lighter look at financial crises and how the lords of the universe can come unstuck!

Just as an aside, does anyone else take a kind of perverse pleasure in buying a kindle book as they lie in bed? There is nothing like getting your bed time reading out of the air in a couple of minutes flat - particularly when one's partner is happily snoring away and has no idea you are spending a little fortune!

Nice to have a book thread! I had 11 books unread from my World Music course 2 years ago, (didn't have time to read them then). I have been reading them ever since - they are not exactly easy reading, and progress has been slow due to not enough colour pictures, and too many long words! Am on the last 10% of book no. 11 - I want a medal!

Aquarelle, I'm really not going to buy kindle books to read in bed, unless it can be The Adventures of Noddy!

A Dalziel and Pascoe novel that I've read before. But I like D&P and it helps send me off to sleep at bedtime!!

I've just read Dear Lupin. It was brilliant - very funny but also quite sad.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently reading Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire.

I also keep picking up Tom Stoppard's 'The Real Thing', which I went watching in May at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Loz xx
