The Sports Bar by Leicester Square (Haymarket I think) might be an option but it depends on what sort of atmosphere you're after, really.

Personally, I'd go somewhere like the Old King's Head off of Borough High Street but that's just me (they do great real ale). In fact, I might do just that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Sorry, I should have said what I was after. Somewhere quietish (maybe that's expecting a bit too much!), with nice food. Nice beer would be a definite bonus then I'll be able to persuade my husband that's what we're really going for.

Somewhere quiet to watch the world cup final? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Apart from a social club or similar place, I think you'll have trouble there! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Well maybe not quiet, exactly, but somewhere where it's on rather than a pub dedicated to football. Is it being shown outdoors anywhere?

In fact has anyone got any good suggestions at all for our two days in London? An awful lot of things seem to end today and other things start next Wednesday. I thought about the open air theatre in Regent's Park but they're not doing anything I want to see, and the Globe is full. I don't want to be cooped up in a theatre in this nice weather. Anything at all? It doesn't have to be theatre.

Not as far as I know, sadly. There are a few cinemas showing the final, which may be more to your liking.

You could try the German embassy? (or Uruguayan, Brazilian, Argentinean, etc.)
