Try tuh-kuh-tuh.
I don't know for sure, but I think that's it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

There are (at least) two schools of thought on this: the t-k-d t-k-d (tu-ku-du) school, and the tu-ku-tu ku-tu-ku school. The second can be practised by saying 'tickle two kitty cats' rapidly a number of times. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
I tend to single tongue very fast and hope for the best. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Try "ti-ti-ka".....although like Andante, I tend to single quickly and trust to luck. After a few pints my articulation is just fantabulous though. In fact I am a genius!!!!!!!! The fact that I have fallen off my chair is a minor distraction for any listeners present.
Good luck, Bag x |

tah-kah-tah, tah-kah-tah. Basically, you articulate once above your teeth (The 'normal way'), then you articulate with the back of your tounge on the back of your mouth, and then to the front again. It really takes a lot of practice. It took me a full summer to be able to do it without getting tounge-tied.
I practiced by walking around going tah-kah-tah all day, and ignoring the awkward stares. |

If you can double-tongue, the triples are much easier to learn - just take it slowly at first, and build up speed gradually. You can practise without an instrument - try doing it when listening to music in compound time.

I tend to use d-g-d d-g-d, and has done me proud. Took a while to get used to, but because can double tounge, not as long as I imagine it would have taken!!!

I learnt (brass) tu tu ku, but then was told in order to get the accents in the right place you should do tu ku tu and I'm finding it impossible to switch dammit!
