I mentioned a couple of weeks ago I was buying a new 'tuner' for Hannah (due to dropping her old one on the floor too many times)...
Well it arrived - and it's brilliant!!!! It's very cute, very ergonomic and easy to use (it clips to the scroll with big soft rubber feet), and very accurate. On the screen is a little red heart that you can set to beat as a metronome but I don't think that will be much use - too small to see - and I have another metronome anyway. But as a tuner it's excellent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It's called a 'Snark SN-2' but its pet name will be 'Sniff' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Here it is: (IMG:http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s225/zilloot/violas%20violins/Snark2.jpg) And this is what I see as I play and tune at the same time looking down the fingerboard.... (IMG:http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s225/zilloot/violas%20violins/Snark1.jpg) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) The reason I'm very angry is because I paid ?21 for it from a mail-order company I shall not name... only to find out that the RRP is ONLY ?18 and that you can buy it from Amazon for half what it cost me. That makes me feel just completely ripped off but also rather STUPID because it hadn't occurred to me to look for it on Amazon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I can't return it because I had taken the battery out of its packaging and installed it before I found out!! I could have used the ?10 I would have saved to buy more music (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) In case anyone wants one here's the Amazon link - Really cute tuner at a DECENT price here |

I have one of these, i use it A LOT it lives on my music stand (or in my case when i take my violin anywhere) it's really useful not only for tuning your violin but checking your tuning/notes throughout your playing... when doing shifting studies or studies very high up i dont trust myself to be playing the right note and so i use the snark to check every now and then that i am on the right note/position (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I love the fact that you can switch it to tune by vibrations or from sound (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) the metronome is very cute but i never use it...
I paid ?17 for mine like a year ago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |
