Sarah has changed where she's from on her profile. I'm taking that as a sign that she's settling in to her new life okay. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You know the whole hemidemisemi quaver thing?

How does it go after that? Because I keep wanting to tell people about it, but am worried I'll get it wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

does it just go hemidemisemihemidemisemihemidemisemi etc quaver?

Or is there some secret pattern using a maths formula with the numbers of h's s's d's?

It goes hemi, demi, semi, hemi, demi, semi etc. ad infinitum.

So the note that's half the length of a hemidemisemiquaver is a semihemidemisemiquaver! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Erm, it'll change back to Cambridge when I go home, it's just where I can be found, not necessarily where I think I belong most. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Things are going pretty well at the moment though (ignoring small hiccups like student loan nightmare, mucked up timetable, dodgy ankle and freshers flu). It is a bit difficult to think of here as my home though when I'm not allowed to stick things to my walls or wardrobe for fear of being fined. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) We really have to meet up some time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I could have sworn the next one was quasihemidemisemiquaver. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I'm wondering how much longer the list would have to be before things were not going so well!!!! You seem to have had your share of bad luck so far what with the flu, dodgy ankle etc..!!!
Hope you get your student loan soon!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, things aren't going great really and I feel pretty depressed and rubbish right now (that list was about half the stuff I could think of off the top of my head (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)), but I feel I've settled in well and am getting on with uni life in general pretty well. You'll hopefully feel better soon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thereThere.gif) It can be quite difficult adapting to a new environment but things will improve. Having said that it seems such a shame the uni is not helping more, for a start by letting students putting pictures on the walls!!!!
If you ever feel reeeeaaaalllyyy depressed let us know and a few of us could maybe organise a trip to Durham to cheer you up!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/thereThere.gif) Well you've pretty much been deracinated, which is quite difficult to cope with by anyone's standards, but you'll be fine! I've been through similar situations a few times (not uni though).

Try getting sent abroad on your own where you know next to no-one! Hard at first but great once you get into the swing of things (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Oh no, it's not that bad really! It's just that right now, in the short term, it seems like everything that could possibly go wrong has done. It's got to the point where I'm guessing what's going to happen next. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

My proper random thought for today: a music stand makes a better drying rack than the drying racks that I brought with me - it has 7 different things hanging off it quite happily. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) That reminded me of a place I used to share with some other girls and we had noticed that the heater in the front room was better for making toasts than the toaster!!! and we could get 4 slices of bread on it in one go!!!!
