I think this is one of Trinity's rules rather than ABRSM.

From their regulations on own choice material:
"Items that are considered insufficiently demanding will not be approved. Works considered to be of greater demand than the level may be proposed, but you may not then include them in any higher diploma level entry you may make, i.e. you may not submit the same piece of music for two or more examinations at increasing levels."

A quick scan at the oboe lists suggests they do not have the same piece listed under more than one dip level so it would always have to be approved

Oops, accidentally outed as having spent too long looking at the LTCL requirements (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

waw1969, have you had any further thoughts about your programme? If you think the Schumann might be an option, I'd definitely recommend checking with the Diplomas office to confirm whether or not you're permitted to offer them again, and also ask yourself whether or not you want to spend the time and effort bringing them up to L standard or you'd prefer to learn new repertoire.

To be honest, although I love the Schumann, I think I would prefer to work towards different pieces rather than repeat ones I had already done.

There is so much choice here (lucky really) and yes, need to think about the timing and breaks in between as well.

I know I am allowed a 5 minute 'breather' inbetween pieces but remember in my dipABRSM being so worried about running over time that I only took about 2 mins - although it did seem a lot longer at the time! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Thanks for all your comments everyone, will no doubt come back to you all when I have sorted out a full programme to see what you think. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
