Thank you all so much for your greetings. Especially Skylark for getting up in the middle of the night to be the first, DawnF for the cake - you know I like cake, and Daisy Chain for such a wonderful card - did you make it yourself? I'm three-quarters of the way there now and your kind thoughts have made an old man very happy (as the Bishop said to the Actress).

Yes, we have had a lovely day. Went to Helmsley and walked the edge of the moors before lunch. The sun shone all day.
