Fairly well, the exam is middle of next week. My fingers are navigating it (and the Hindemith) more by the day! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Forever Autumn. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Back in the 80s we lived in Darlington, and one of our three lads borrowed from a friend a copy of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds LPs and, ahem, they accidentally found their way onto a cassette*. Living where we did, it was always a long car journey to see family (Essex and Sussex) and friends we had made when we lived in Coventry, and we were each allowed to choose a couple of cassettes for communal listening in the car, the rules being that we were allowed to choose anything that we liked and there were to be no complaints when it was our turn to listen to our choice. The one choice that everyone liked, including our youngest who was then about 8 was the Jeff Wayne one, so it was invariably someone's choice in every car journey. As a result, I became able to sing every word of every song, and even mastered most of Richard Burton's dialogue. ("Who would have believed......"). I have to say that I never tired of listening to Forever Autumn, and the words "...'cos you're not here" always brought a lump to my throat. *I am so sorry for this bit of illegal practice, and by way of compensation I have bought the CD Special Edition, the DVD of the live performance, and been to see a live performance in Sheffield. Absolutely great stuff! |
