I am thinking of getting an MP3 player, can you recommend any for under £120, preferably under £100?
I don't know much about them, so may be best if you ask me questions like what I want from them and things.
Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Dont know much about them but I really want a decent one...

Don't spend VERY little and get one with hardly any space (like 512 Mb or something random like that) at least get a few gig..
The only other thing I know is that apparently they are a bit more 'reliable' than Ipods and i think they're prettier.

1. How many songs do you want? (warning; if you say only 60 or so, you'll end up wanting twice as many)
2. Do you want it to mess up quickly? If not, don't buy over the internet, speaking from experience here!
3. When will you use it, how often?
4. Do you want to be able to record stuff, like you playing the flute with it?
5. Does it need to be a pretty colour/design?
6. Do you know anything about mp3 players at all? Cos there are squillions under £80, see argos catalogue or dixons or wherever

OK, cppf; ipods are a sort of mp3 player, that's like saying "don't get a computer, get a windows and microsoft thing" or "don't get a tv, get a widescreen".
Also, I have a 512mb one, and it's more than enough for me! Remember that you want to be able to pick a song you want to listen to, not one you just have on there anyway, it's a waste of space.

1. I'm not sure, but quite a lot really!
2. I want it not to break
3. I'll probably use it once a day
4. If it could record it would be a bonus
5. Design doesn't matter
6. I looked in the Argos catalogue. I'd quite like one like how the Ipod is set up - where you can browse artist/genre etc rather than ones where you just have them in a set order.

A friend of mine has just bought a Creative Zen Nano and is very happy with it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). They're £80 for 1Gb from Amazon so they're well within budget.

I tried using an Ipod the other day - didn't seem to amaze me that much...

I have a little packard bell thing. It's really good, about £110, takes a bit of getting used to though.

I have 1 gigabyte, and I have this on there:

Oasis - 2 albums
Travis - 1 album
The Clash - 1 album
Chopin - 1 album
Franz Ferdinand - 1 album
Franz Liszt - 1 album
Pink floyd (the wall) - 2 albums
Mahler Symphony no. 5 - 1 album.

And there's room to spare, I say you can get plenty on 1 gig.

Hmm, I have an iPod and have had no troubles. It all depends on how much space you want/need, I wouldn't be able to fit a tenth of my music on a 1 Gb player.

I have a Smasung 512mb thing which has no problems at all. It was only £80 6 months ago, so it'll be even less now. I have it on shuffle all the time, so I want to be able to enjoy each track rather than thinking "oh no, not this one..."

Creative Zen Micro 4GB: £109.98
Creative Zen Nano Plus 1GB: £79.98

That's what a quick look on dabs.com found. I bought a 20GB Zen Touch from there a couple of months ago for £140, and it works great, although I found that I ran out of space rather fast...!

That's the one I'd go for, I have at least 10GB of music if not more, and I HATE iPods, so overrated. Zens last twice as long battery wise and are just as good (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) and CHEAPER

I got a 20GB Creative Zen from Amazon a couple of weeks ago for £150. It's absolutely fantastic. I don't know about the other Creative Zens though.

Yeah but they don't have the same 'cool' factor (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

And "cool factor" is really that important? Heck I know someone who recently got mugged for his iPod and phone all because of the iPods headphones!
