Sorry for the random question but,
is 2 time compound time & 3 time simple time as in my aural I got asked whether the piece was in 2 or 3 time, as it was in compound i said 2 XD. I suffered a blank spot in my mind. *bashes head on piano keys* |

is 2 time compound time & 3 time simple time.. 3 time isn't necessarily simple - I think I'm right in saying that 9/8 for example, which is compound time, would sound as 3 beats to the bar. 2 time isn't necessarily compound. It would sound as 2 beats to the bar if it was 6/8 (compound), for instance, but 2-time would normally be thought of as 2/4 or 2/2 which is simple. But it's a bit late for theory questions so please somebody correct me if I'm wrong! |
