I hope this doesn't count as advertising - I would just like to share with all adult posters who might be interested the amazing flute resource of the City Literary Institute (City Lit) in London. They offer four levels of teaching, from absolute beginners to post grade 5. Classes are ensemble style but with opportunities (and encouragement) to play solo. The teachers are great and you get the opportunity to play with a professional standard pianist at levels 3 and 4. It's really fun as a supplement to your private lessons. If you don't have lessons, it's equally helpful and motivating. http://www.citylit.ac.uk/search/?dept=Music?ion=Flute |

I have to say that City Lit do excellent music courses. I am thinking about attending the one on piano technique which is for two evenings in July and then another on piano geography which is just for one evening in July.

I can't speak for the music courses, but I took some excellent writing courses there a few years ago. And, as a bonus, I met my future husband. Our writing teacher was at our wedding. Ahh, fond memories....

I met my husband at the City Lit, too! (Italian classes.) Wow, the City Lit Dating Service! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I also met my first partner at the City Lit! Latin American studies. Good times. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Sadly, he passed away a few months ago from a horrible degenerative disease. |
