Have been offered a place at both.

Morley or Canterbury Christchurch

Anyone have an opinion on which is better?

Will this course ideally lead to a BMus or BA in music? Will you be studying full-time or part-time? Do you already live in or near either London or Canterbury? Are you 17/18, or a mature student? Do you have dependants? Can you afford to live in London if you are not already based there? Would you rather study in the Capital or elsewhere? Have you visited the two colleges? Have you met any of the tutors Are the courses similar, or does either have modules in which you are particularly interested?

As for a direct comparison between the actual courses I couldn't say, but I have studied at Morley and would rate it quite highly.

I did the Access course at Canterbury Christ Church and I'm now studying for a BMus there.
I did the course to get back into studying and as a revision tool as I already had the qualifications to get onto the degree as a mature student. I'm glad I did it, it reminded me of how much I'd forotten (A level in 1975, so not surprising), and was a useful introduction to the college.
The standard of students on the course was very mixed, from barely able to read music to Grade 8+, which meant that the pace was sometimes rather slow for the more advanced students.
Like me, most Access students go on to study at CCCU and we all agree it is a worthwhile course.
As an Access student you can join any of the directed ensembles that the college runs, so you can get fully involved in the department straight away.
I'm having a great time there, the other students and staff are very supportive and friendly and Canterbury is a lovely city to live in.
