Hello forum (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wave.gif)

I'm very pleased to announce that applications are now open for the above event! The Greenwich Playday will be in the same venue as last year (West Greenwich arts centre), and will once again encompass all orchestral instruments from about grade 2ish upwards. If you want to come and are under grade 2, let me know well in advance, and I may be able to accommodate you.

Timings are different this year : 11:15am-3:15pm. This is to allow those people who want to travel on to Waterloo to hear Panthera and Tom Piano's piano recital time to make the journey to the 1901 Club for what promises to be a great recital. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Website with full details is here.

Not going to be able to come to this this year, I'm afraid. Signor Dante and I have received an invitation to an event we are unlikely to experience again, and so we're going to that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Very intrigued by that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Sorry you're not able to come this year, though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I probably won't be able to make it, despite being on my doorstep, because it clashes with my regular Saturday workshops / lessons.

Where do I find details about the piano recital - it sounds as though I might be able to make that...

Solari will be posting a separate thread here in due course : it's tied in with his regular piano playdays at the 1901 Club, Exton Street, Waterloo (Waterloo tube/NR). It features Tom Piano and Panthera, and is due to start about 4ish. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I really enjoyed this event last year and I am sorry to say that I won't be coming this year. Apart from November being a busy time for me musically, I of course am happy that I am now getting orchestral experience once a week, so the useful experience that your event provides, Barry, is not needed so much now.

But I really encourage anybody who is thinking about getting some orchestral/ensemble playing experience to consider very seriously going to this event, because it gets to fulfil that need very nicely in a fun way.

And then there is the recital opportunity. I haven't yet had the chance to hear Tom Piano, but I have heard Panthera several times and I know she is an absolute joy to listen to.

Thanks for your kind words, gedall40 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . It's well worth considering going to one of Sol's London piano days, if you fancy that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Tom Piano, let me say here, is very, very good. Oh yes.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I was secretly hoping that the budget would magically appear for me to attend a meeting in Ghana in November, which would allow me to pass through London. Imagine that, actually wanting to be in the UK in cold, wet November - what is the Forum doing to me!!!

It looks as though it's not to be, sadly. Enjoy yourselves!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/fingersCrossed.gif) - maybe a Forum event sometime in 2011?

I would love to come, and this year it doesn't clash with my daughter's orchestra concert - but it does clash with mine!

I could make both in terms of timing, but if I'm honest I'm not sure I've the stamina to make it through the concert (physically or mentally) as I'm wilting by coffee break time at rehearsals, let alone playing with you all earlier in the day. And I suspect there will be orchestra rehearsal at some point earlier in the day too.

Oh well - have fun everyone.

Crikey! Looks like duets at this rate! I thought this event would be very well attended as it's in London, and lots of Forum members are from the South-East area.....

Early days yet, Jo. This event's started quicker than Birmingham, and that's now filling nicely. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Oh, and it's trios at the moment, I also have onion's form! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Picked up your form today, by the way, and it's fine : thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
