GRAND OPERA (Catterick 3.50) 4-1 AFFRETANDO (Lingfield 4.30) 11-2 ROSSINIS DANCER (Nottingham 5.10) 6-1 GIOACCHINO (Catterick 2.20) 6-1 MAGICAL SONG (Nottingham 5.10) 8-1 SFORZANDO (Nottingham 4.10) 10-1 STRIKE UP THE BAND (Nottingham 3.10) 12-1 FRANK SONATA (Nottingham 3.40) 12-1 NATURAL RHYTHM (Nottingham 5.10) outsider IMPROMPTU (Kempton 8.20) outsider IRISH BALLAD (Kempton 9.20) outsider For Saturdays Grand National it looks as though the only musical one is OPERA MUNDI |

Affrey was a non runner today which was a bit of an anticlimax!
His blood was slightly wrong and that might mean that he is going down with a cold, If this is the case, pressure on his lungs caused by galloping very fast would do him no good at all. Anyway, hopefully he'll soon be back on form. |

Thanks for the note Enharmonic. Poor Affrey !
In fact it was a poor day , all we got was a second place for GIOACCHINO. (Rossinis first name) GRAND OPERA started favourite at Catterick but only came 6th. Today, not much hope with these except one:- LENNON (Aintree 4.20) 6-1 SONGMASTER (Leicester 4.30) 10-1 CHORD (Aintree 3.00) outsider BRAVE BOOGIE (Leicester 5.05) outsider FAIR COPPELIA (Taunton 3.30) outsider MISS BOUGGY WOUGGY (Kempton 8.50) outsider Regards, F#DIMINISHED (Headingley Stadium, sometime) |

Another mess yesterday , best performer was fourth (LENNON).
Today:- FIRE UP THE BAND (Wolverhampton 18.50) 10-11 fav , won for us last time SANDS CROONER (Wolverhampton 21.20) 4-1, has also won for us before PICCOLO PETE (Southwell 16.40) 5-1 MUSIC BOX EXPRESS (Wolverhampton 19.20) 5-1, also won last time. MESSIAH GARVEY (Southwell 17.15) 8-1 SOUND ACCORD (Aintree 2.35) outsider BONNIE ROCK (Aintree also 2.35) outsider Now on April 1st I suggested LAIZYDAIZY was running ! Well I wasnt so far out. You may not now believe that today we have MAISY DAISY in the 5.30 at Aintree, a 12-1 chance. (I won't be on line from noon today until Monday.) |

Opera Mundi is now not running in the National tomorrow (the only 'musical' horse as far as I can see).

There's a 'musical' horse called Backbeat running in the National tomorrow (66-1). Car Expert Yes CE, you're right there, missed that one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Doesn't look to have much of a chance though... |

BACKBEAT was a non-finisher - it fell at the second fence...

On Friday FIRE UP THE BAND won at 6-5fav, PICCOLO PETE was second at 4-1, and MESSIAH GARVEY second at 4-1fav.
Today, one looks to be almost a 'cert' ! DUSTY SPRINGFIELD (Plumpton 5.20) 1-2 'on' fav JOLI CLASSICAL (Plumpton 3.20) 5-1 TUNING FORK (Kempton 5.10) 10-1 SCARAMOUSHCA (Plumpton 2.20) outsider (thinking of Milhauds Suite for two pianos) |
