I've been offered a piano for £10 with the ominous words 'it needs work'.

Apparantly it hasn't been played for...'a while'...and a couple of the keys don't work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

But, for a tenner, I've decided it can't hurt to take a looksee. I've found a repairer locally who's willing to look it over and give a free estimate on how much it will cost to get it playable so, hopefullly, I'll know soon.

*fingers crossed*

Speaking as one who agreed to let a member of staff store a "£10 piano" at the office, can I recommend that you smell it inside before you take it home (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif)

But I hope it will turn out OK! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Thanks for the tip skylark.

I should know either way by the end of today. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fingersCrossed.gif)

Pian, pian, pian-O, pian-O, PIANO!

Well, the verdict is in…

Total cost for minor repairs + transport to its new home = less than £100 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Needs a bit of a clean up, not to mention tuning, but I can worry about that later.
The repairer seemed surprised that it was in such good condition. Apparently he’d been expecting something a lot worse from the description.

Oh, and no ‘smell problems’ to speak of either. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

So one, very happy, soon to be piano owner here. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif)
