I think the problem (this at least is the theory I am working on) is the fact that B#/C is one of the low notes of the sax, and I don't always find it easy to make them sound cleanly, neatly etc when I want them to. But I am limited in fingering, so I may have to re-think it. There are actually a few fingerings for the first note, but only one seems to make sense - and only one fingering for the low C --- I suspect it may be just hard work! thanks ... I may end up emailing a sax player I know (hoping her broadband is working!)
