Just happened to be listening to Radio 3 now in the wee small hours and Helmut Rilling's choir has just this minute launched into Bach's Magnificat, BWV 243! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif)

Nice to have some company on the Forum... usually on my own at this time of night (nearly 8pm so it must be an indecent hour over there...).

Better get home to some oboe practice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

It's five to three in the morning and the choir I have on in the background has just begun Sicut locutus est.

What pieces have you in mind to practice? - I have accompanied a few oboe works - most notably the Schumann Romances.

I tried getting Radio 3 live but the internet is against me... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

As for practice - got it in one! The first Romance is on my exam menu for Tuesday! So, I'd better run...

Night night!

Well maybe not happy but it got me smiling !
I found an old video of Victor Borge stuff messing around on a piano, and I used to roar with laughter when he was on TV in the 60's. Anyone else remember him ?

Yes indeed. His musical punctuation was one of his trademark acts - no doubt on YouTube somewhere, for those who never heard it. Didn't he also play in the style of different composers? - similar to Joseph Cooper, but Danish!

Had a surprise flying visit from the owner of the company this afternoon - he said the site looked great and was really impressed with the plants in the greenhouses. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well I don't remember, but I do own a CD. I remember being very amused at The Blue Serenade Waltz...

Oh my, just looked on Amazon, there are DVDs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I suppose that really it shouldn't have made me happy, on a couple of counts, but I spied a note in a chord of my Debussy Sarabande that I have been leaving out and that my teacher has failed to spot so far! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

He's usually exasperatingly spectacularly accurate in hearing either wrong notes, added notes or missing ones, that I suspect he has been holding it back for such a time as I should seem complacent! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

I'm sure there is - and I'm equally sure it has been posted and chortled over on the forums at some date in the past!

Finallllllly! The ABRSM has finally let me back in again... ! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The internet was claiming to have lost connection...

After 17 years of "choral drought" ... finally discovered a really decent little choir here. We were treated some Rutter... shame the audience was so tiny.
