I'm OK at the moment. Have called the agency and they said they'd sent someone round to check the damage. Really hope this gets sorted soon... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Aaaaagh

I've been asked to judge a competition in a field fraught with fragile egos and trophy hunters.

Some of these people have known me for a long time too!!!

I've always turned down judging requests over the years but this time it seems churlish to refuse (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)

That must have been very scary. Was it accidental or deliberate? Hope you're okay.

Thanks for all the support and sympathy. I was asleep when it happened (2.45 am) and I was completely shocked and scared. I think it was just a random act of vandalism - well, that's certainly what I hope as I don't want to go through this again! The glaziers have put up some sheet tape stuff to cover the hole in the window and they're going to replace the pane tomorrow, so on a practical level things are getting sorted. I think it'll take me much longer to feel safe in my flat again though... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Anything that affects the secure space where you live is very upsetting (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Have you reported it to the police?

I did call the police straight away. They took my details and said they'd check the CCTV footage and have a look round the area but they weren't too sure they'd be able to catch who did it.

Does it involve baking and cup-cakes? If so, Good Luck!

I have a computer aaagh. for some reason I don't seem able any more to register PDF files I have downloaded. I haven't done this for some time so either I am a nitwit and have forgotten how to do it or something has gone wrong somewhere.

I tried to register a download from the Susan Paradis site - Ive got quite few fo her pieces on my computer so it has worked in the past. But having brought the file up I can't find any register button on my Google browser and when I right click I don't get any menu offering register.

Can any one who is good at computers help please?

OK. Beat this. My cat has just nearly set my house on fire by peeing into an multi-socket extension lead....FLAMES, the works. Cue Bag in rubber gloves. Plug was so welded to the socket I had to turn the power off and cut through the lead to get it all out.
