Quick thought- Does anyone here listen to any 'normal' music? Normal???? Are you suggesting classical isn't NORMAL? Well OK, last night on the train home I listened to some Grinderman having discovered I hadn't copied Queens of the Stone Age to my iPod. I grew up with 1970s prog rock and often find myself listening to Led Zep or similar. The odd really good band pops up on Jools show from time to time, but I can't think of any offhand. |

Lily Allen? Sorry, can't be doing with her... QUOTE Lady Gaga? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ill.gif) QUOTE The Noisettes? Don't know if they'll be one hit wonders, but 'Don't Upset The Rhythm' is a good record. I grew up with 1970s prog rock and often find myself listening to Led Zep or similar. The odd really good band pops up on Jools show from time to time, but I can't think of any offhand. I've just rediscovered Focus. A little before my time, but my gosh, they were a great band. Everyone should be made to listen to Hocus Pocus... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Really excellent musicians. Speaking of which a What's On leaflet dropped through my door this morning for Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. October 4th - The Groundhogs, Wishone Ash and Focus. All on one night. That's worth a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yay.gif) |

I don't really listen to classical music, I just sing it occasionally. That probably makes me a Bad Musician, but I don't care (much).
I like 'normal music', rock, etc. I like dance music, but only in clubs, nowhere else, and my true love is musical theatre. I also like country, especially when I'm miserable. I don't like Lady Gaga though, and Katy Perry actually makes me ill. I really dislike her music a lot. I'm listening to Taylor Swift now, and earlier I was listening to Eva Cassidy, and yesterday I was listening to Brand New. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Cos on the "what are you listening to?" thread it's all very classicaley. Most of my posts in there aren't classically...I like 'Human' by The Killers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Fab song!I like music that's in the charts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) For some time I've felt embarassed to admit this to anyone I've met through this forum, but stuff it! I love pretty much everything in the Top 40 right now. Oh, and for the record yes I am following the whole Katie Price/Peter Andre thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Just had a very disgruntled ginger tom appear through the cat flap. He was dozing nicely on the top of the garden wall when the heavens opened. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rain.gif)

(IMG:http://solari.adsl24.co.uk/sisko.gif) Noooo, it's great!!!! I used to hate it... but then in dance at school, we were allowed to do a dance to whatever, and loads of girls in my class blasted out all of this music, and it was great!! I like music like that to pick me up, and make me jump around and dance a bit You can hardly dance to classical music. I love Shake it by Metro Station, or I Just Can't Get Enough by the Saturdays, or Hot N Cold by Katy Perry. When everyone's out, I put it on the stereo and jump around the house. The kittens give me funny looks. Still, it's not for everyone. |

Quick thought- Does anyone here listen to any 'normal' music? Cos on the "what are you listening to?" thread it's all very classicaley. Anyone a fan of Katy Perry? The Killers? Lily Allen? Lady Gaga? The Noisettes? etc etc etc Anyone at all? Add me to the list...I like all of those bands haha...in fact, I'll listen to pretty much anything (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I'm always amazed when people are shocked by the fact that I like Mozart AND Lady Gaga AND Stone Sour AND Led Zeppelin AND loads of other things, from my era or not! It's like...well, it might not all be to your tastes, but if I like the track, I'll listen to it, why not! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Incidentally, Lady Gaga is VERY good live, in fact better than her recordings I think...she was the support when I saw Take That a few weeks ago and whilst rather err, provocotive, and crazy as (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) but she's got a great voice and is a very talented pianist too! Not everyone's cup of tea I admit, but a very good performer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

My friends find it hilarious that when they nick my ipod and look at 25 most played songs, there's the poulenc flute sonata, debussy piano, just dance, and broken strings (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I love lady gaga! She's a bit eccentric, but has a great voice and style. |

So it seems - http://www.focustheband.com/english.html Not the original lineup (as is usually the case with reunions) though Thijs van Leer is still there. Oh and Wishbone Ash are "Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash" containing 1 member of the original line-up - yes Martin Turner. Not to be confused with "Wishbone Ash" containing 1 other original member, Andy Powell. As for the Groundhogs - well Tony McPhee is still there but I don't know about the rest of the line up. Blimey, there's more. It seems there are some other old s (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) ds having a go. Curved Air would you believe? Anyone remember Sonja Kristina? If my previous experience of going to see them is anything to go by, they won't turn up. |
