i passed grade one on november 27th. and i know what all of my scales are, (i just need to practise them) and i have to learn three pieces but so far i have been given 2 pieces and i have nearly learnt them properly and miss gould ( my piano teacher) said that i f i practice hard enough then i might be able to do grade 2 in february but some of my friends have said that i should wait until June so i can get a better mark instead of rushing it. i don't know what to do though. :(

and i need to practice sight reading!

It's simple really. Do you feel up to it? Come on, be self-critical and rely on your judgement.

As I see it, you might as well take grade 2 and use the result as a guide - if you only just pass or fail, then you'll know you have to work much harder on your grade 3 (you might as well foget grade 2 once you've sat it).

If you pass well, you can straight in to grade 3; if you pass very well, grade 4.

:)
May I ask for some indication of your age? Feel free to say no - just that I'll adjust my comments a little. I'm very respectful of privacy so if you can say under or over 15 it would help. But still say no if you'd prefer not.

Uhhhh...thank you but it's a v sad story. I got grade 9 and was then struck off for playing accidentals, which as you'll know from "Bluff you Way in Music" are wrong notes played on purpose.

Please see the thread called "Prizenight". Clarinetlover explained with great joy that she played a piece called the Wave on a grand woohoo....

And don't believe her... I had a grand woohoo that came from the same maker as hers - I think she has a Bosenwoohoo too. But she is the superior performer on it!!!
