My son is around grade 1/2 level in the db and he loves it but he really wants some jazz/pop/cool music. Are there any good books for this level that are not, "This Old Man", "Clair de la Lune" etc! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hello MNW. Our kids sound at about the same point on DB.
Teachers might not approve of this idea, but my daughter has had a bit of fun with copying simple jazz/rock bass lines from sites like YouT and how-to. There are loads of videos on how to play rock-and-roll type backing. You have to call it "upright bass" as most of the instruction videos are American. |
