When I shift my finger a wide leap when doing legato, I tend to end up sounding glissando.

How can I avoid this?

You need to practice lightening the bow as you move so the slide doesn't sound. Experiment with bow speed, bow weight and finger speed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
