Hi everyone,

not been here in a while! I need some inspiration. I have to leave the school I teach in on Saturdays - way too much work on etc - and I'm handing my pupils over to two very nice, capable teachers. Some of these pupils have been with me for 4 years and I feel a bit lonely after them and I want to give them a little token to say good luck and goodbye for now! Anyway, has anyone got any nice ideas of what would be suitable? Something cheap and cheerful I guess, not pencils and erasers though coz I give them out at Christmas! Some are violin players and some are piano, if that helps!!

thanks!

Hm - difficult one if you are saying goodbye to quite a few.

When my own pupils move on, if they've been with me quite a while or are leaving to go to Uni, I usually get a Naxos CD for them (or some other fairly inexpensive label) appropriate to the instrument they've been studying with me. I am happy with the cost for special pupils but this couldn't be done for a lot at one time of course.

Could you download (legally) and print some music from the internet for each of them? Do you have the capability to record them and then make up a CD of all their performances - copy for each?

Just a couple of thoughts.

Those little instrument-specific brooches and/or fridge magnets you can buy in music shops?
