Thinking that Classic FM really shouldn't have "We Buy Any Car" music interrupting the bliss calm that followed the Allegri Miserere...

They don't do that sort of thing on Radio 3.

I'm thoroughly fed up with football on TV disrupting normal scheduling, and encouraging all the channels to think that everyone will be watching the footie, so they've got grotty programmes on too.

There is nothing worth watching, except a Clint Eastwood film at about midnight which is Too Late.

Having read this, I think it should be in the scream thread. Sorry. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

ROFL! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

From fifty quid to a hundred grand! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) We Buy Any Car.com doesn't even recognise my cars so is proof that they don't actually buy any car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

They'll give me about five hundred quid for my car, which might be the easiest thing to do come September when I need to get shot of it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

But right now my random comment is booooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddddddddddddd!!!

162 servers were down at work yesterday, meaning several systems weren't working, or were working but you couldn't connect to them, or were working and accessible but with outdated and/or corrupt data.

Stuff was fixed yesterday after I finished work and systems are coming back up gradually. I have a nice list of things to do as soon as the services I need are restored. The problem is, none of my systems are restored yet. So now I just have to sit here, trying every now and then to see if things are back. Have run out of everything else to do on my to do list (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Still bored! It's now really rather annoying because we have to deliver datasets on Tuesday, and we had Thursday, Friday and Monday to do last minute checking and such like. And now we only have Monday. Assuming the systems get fixed.

I also ended up at the emergency doctor thanks to this horrible little fly - how can something so little inflict so much pain!

You have my sympathy. I know the football fans wil lbe enjoying themselves, but why should those not interested in football (e.g. me!) have to suffer so? The only consolation these days is that with multi-channel TV it's not quite as bad as it was say 20 years ago.

I was logging in to the office from home today and I use a VPN connection. It failed - the secure token on my Blackberry was corrupt (they downloaded an update last weekend and.... you can guess what happened). The help desk is unsurprisingly busy as and when people try to log on away from the office it all goes horribly wrong. Took me 20 minutes to get through to our help desk.

When I got that sorted, my wireless router kept dropping. Then went on a conference call that was using Webex and that wouldn't share its desktop... Altogedther not a good day for technology (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Talking of conference calls - I sometimes get misdirected ones from an IT company in London. Somehow my number is on their system in error. The worst example was when the phone rang nine times within a minute.

I have explained the problem to various different parties, and it's lessened - but I still get them now and then.

I suspect it's never going to completely go away.
