I think it's a minimalist piece, on the piano, with a cell which changes gradually, I think it's well known.
It has a main theme which goes something like these notes. Played over and over, like in 2,4 I think, with quavers. Sorry, I'm not great with notation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb D, Eb, F, Eb, D, Eb C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb, C, Eb D, Eb, F, Eb, D, Eb G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Ab, G, F, Eb, F, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Eb, G, Ab, G, F, Eb, F Then it carries on again with the whole C, Eb bit for a while I think. And while all of this is playing there are low, slow notes in the background, possibly on the bottom of the piano, I think. And then it carries on to a more melodic sort of bit, which has the notes... and the underlined notes are longer, sorry I can't think how else to write it, they sort of last for two beats? C G Eb F G Ab G F D Eb F G F Eb C D Eb F Eb D Bb D C C G Eb F G Ab Bb (higher) F Bb Eb F G Ab Eb C D E F Eb D Bb D C I'm sorry if I've got some weird notes, my handwriting scribbled is hard to read. |

Yep, I've been a right old berk... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)
I was humming it to my sister, and she said "you used to play that on the piano, about 6 months ago". It's that song, I think you suggested it to me, and gave me the sheet music. Hopefully I'm getting the proper book for xmas. Oops! Sorry, my stupid old brain being forgetful (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I really like that part of the piece, it sounds so much better with the strings IMO. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Yeah, I agree, the youtube versions with strings sound so much better than plain old piano.
Thanks for helping (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
