I've just received an email from a Russian woman, recently jilted and asking to come to England and meet me "and spend some weeks and months together". I've deleted it of course, but just wondered if anybody else has received this sort of thing? I know some music teachers receive spam from potential 'pupils', but I've not received anything like this before and am curious to know where she got my email address.

Thanks

Liz

I spend a couple of minutes a day deleting things like that. I get messages asking me if I would like to put patches on my organ, (it is a harmonium and it does not ned patching. It is in perfect working order!) and others asking me if I want to loose unwanted inches, ones asking me if I want to invest in their companies and others telling me that they have millions of pounds in a bank that I could share if I will help them to transfer it to my bank account! I am not sure how they get here but they seem to manage to bypass the blocks and filters. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If your address is published anywhere on the internet it could have been picked up and added to a spam database. It's also possible that someone you know has a virus in their computer which has sent addresses, including yours, to a similar database.

A combination of these factors means that my work address gets several hundred messages like this every week.

All my spam emails seem to offer me low prices for Viagra (and similar products), and some offering devices for increasing my 'size' !

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I thought that would cause amusement!

Maybe I should change to major, but it only exists as G flat major, and F sharp minor is a favourte key of mine.

Maybe I should change to Augmented something or other. (sorry boasting again! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )

I've got a couple very similar to that on my school account, which is supposedly "bomb proof" to viruses/spam. Also on both my home and school accoutns I've been getting ones about investing in the stock market - thing is they always come from different accounts and the text is displayed as images.
