I really like teaching theory and am always looking for other music-related employment to complement my piano and theory teaching. Does anyone here know how I'd get into marking? Are there any specific courses or qualifications required?

I enquired about this, as I love teaching theory and would enjoy marking, but was told by ABRSM that they have their full quota of markers and I think they also said that they use AB examiners to do theory marking.

I'm starting on my first Theory Diploma - I intend to take the licentiate next. I guess that would put me in a solid position to apply to be a marker? I like to think that those marking the theory papers are at least of diploma standard in theory themselves.

Goodness, well done to you - I'll know who to come to . . . .
