Quite a lot of trampolinists coming out of the woodwork here :D (actually I knew that elmo did it :)). Well done for the somersault elmo (if you go to the Scottish Student Open competition I might see you there :)); and well done to Rainbow for the seat drop :).

The main thing I achieved at trampolining this week was to hurt my neck doing a straight back sommersault to back :( (didn't hurt until this morning...). On the plus side I did get the fun of doing a double back sommersault in the rig :D. I was being a guinea pig to be thrown around in a coaching course and had a high-performance coach correcting my bad habits of a life time that day: honestly, wanting me to have my eyes open when I'm upside down so I can see where I'm going :o ;).

There is talk of a competition in scotland :) Dunno where it is or when though. My mum told my PE teacher that I could do a somersualt and would be starting back ones nect and she said "she can't do that, she'll be better than me!" lol. t'll probably take me another 6 months to learn that one too!!

I decided I don't keep my eyes open in a somersualt. Do you think it's something I should try though?! :blink: It's too scary!!

Well done especially to all those academic achievements! And waves of get better ness to AP and elliewelly coz of their injurries!

Ooh, might see you there then :D. If it is a competition in Scotland it will probably be the open I'm not sure where it is yet; I have a feeling it might be at Dundee University. Keep going with the somersaults, you've got to the really fun bit now :D.

I am always told that I should keep my eyes open, so you should try to I guess. I don't like seeing things going past too quickly though so I shut mine after I've taken off and open them before I land (they just seem to know when to open, you probably do the same...). It's much more confusing with eyes open and more scary, I think my inner ear (i.e. sense of spacial awareness/balance) is better at telling me where I am than my eyes when I can just see a blur ;). Try it if you can do it, but I wouldn't worry too much if you can't (encouraging bad technique now ;) :ph34r:).

Well Jazzy violin (like Sarah) has to count

But also I can now play 5 notes on my recorder.....not too confidently yet :unsure: . But surely now I should be able to play a tune of some description. YAY!

I can still remember the first tune I ever played on the recorder 'Busy Bee' and that only had one note so I'm sure with five you'll be able to play something :). I'm sure it would be more exciting than 'Busy Bee' too ;).

something like
Busy bee, busy bee, busy fuzzy buzzing bee!

Jane - you can play Ode to Joy on 5 notes (well - most of it)
remind me which recorder it is ??

yes - true - I guessed that it might be CDEFG but tell me if I'm wrong ...
C with 3 fingers that is, D with 2 etc.

Close..... its CDE and then A and G using the right hand

OK - you'd need B as well to play it in this key:
B is like G without RH finger one - if you feel like trying - the first line goes :

B B C D D C B A G G A B B. A A

think in 4/4; steady crotchets, except for the dotted B which is a dotted crotchet, the next A is a quaver and the last A is a minim.

Sorry it's musical shorthand and not properly written out :P but worth a go maybe.

The second line is the same except it ends G G A B A. GG
