26th September 7:30pm
Riley Smith Hall, Tadcaster

York Concert Band join with the Tadcaster Corale

The Riley Smith Foundation is a charitable association and the Riley Smith Hall is (apparently) a fantastic venue but also rather large and an audience would be really appreciated.

Think tickets are about £8

Let me know if you are interested and I'll find out how to go about getting them or contact the Hall.
Details: The Riley-Smith Hall
Westgate
Tadcaster
Tel: 01937 832289

More details about the band here
Can't find a link to the Tad Corale.

Edit: Maybe this should be in Forum Events???? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Well, if I happen to be in the York area sometime in the future (and I'll have clocked up four visits this year alone!), and you happen to be doing a gig, I'll see if I can come along (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

When I've done recitals, I've often had surprise forumites turn up on the day that I didn't expect to turn up. Deborah's quite good at doing that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I will keep an eye on your website, and if I'm vaguely near York on any weekend you're doing a gig, I'll see if I can come and watch. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks Barry. Why does that sound a little scary.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) But we are a good band and it's not like I'm solo (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Should be ok providing the other solo player is back from her hols. got put on the spot on Monday (My teacher played 3rd!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) Did ok in the main but totally messed up one piece as nerves got the better of me and I totally mis counted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

And didn't do too great in another in which the solo line was suddenly unexpectedly very exposed do to lack of others on 1st deck. Mainly though it's because the Sandpapers (for Sandpaper Ballet) struggle to keep time and I wasn't sure if I was with them or the conductors batton at one point. She shouted out "watch the stick!!" and I hesitated and then got out. Turned out I was actually right till then oops!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif)

Been practising though and can now just about do the devilishly high bit in Dambusters which we take at a devishly fast pace too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Any forum members interested in coming???? Tickets available from the Band. £8 each. Send me an email or check for contact details on the website.

Ah yes, I know that bit...

Have you got the Solo (as opposed to 1st) part for that? It is rather up in the stratosphere, isn't it!
