At 12.20am, only 306 posts are needed to make 1,000,000 posts on the forum!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif)
The average daily post count is usually over 300, so it's likely to happen sometime during Tuesday 26th. Who's going to be the one to make the 1,000,000th post (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

How do you know how many posts there are? Drift over the reply button on each post, and a link address will appear, where the post number is the final bit of the link : this post is, for example, post number 999728. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Do I get the impression then, that later today a host of members will be checking this link with a message ready to send?
Could be the start of a new game! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) It'll actually be comparatively difficult to know for sure that you're getting post number 1,000,000 : you may have spotted post number 999,999, but someone else may be posting elsewhere at the same time as you are! Personally, I hope post 1,000,000 is a 'normal' post (i.e. a post that isn't on this thread purely to make sure the poster has got the millionth). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I probably won't be online again today until after it's been and gone. A million posts... I wonder how many of those have been in the cafe and how many have been about, er, music (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I think Barry should be nominated to make the one-millionth post. In fact, I'm nominating him right now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) It DID happen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) The only reason you think that it didn't happen is because people all over the world put in an enormous amount of time and money to ensure that services would not be affected. (Including me.) Wonders if forum will blow up when it hits 1,000,000..... Some dodgy programmer somewhere will be to blame (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It is probably more likely blow up on 1,024,000, or 1,048,576. |

Agree with the post about the amount of work that happened to stop the millennium bug, the work started at least a decade before 2000. IMO If it doesn't happen at 1,000,000 then it is not likely to happen until 4294967295 + 1 |
