Not pleasant news, the Stephen Lawrence case (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I had a massive 'Remember Stephen' poster. I lost it by accident doing a house move. We will remember Steve always, and his parents too Doreen and Neville.

Just got back from Leamington Spa. There is a wonderful music store there, one of the best I've ever seen. Used to be a fantastic sheet music store at the far end of far Gosford Street in Coventry but its gone now.

Yes, in Eltham where during the summer riots, local English Defence League yobs dressed in Millwall regalia rampaged down the High Street abusing young men whose skin colour matched that of Steve Lawrence.

Are you anywhere near Belvedere or Erith, barry??

Erith... I am actually the first cousin of the much-missed Linda Smith, and we used to go and stay at her parents (my mothers' brother/sis in laws) house in Riverdale Road, near the a206 before they divorced.

Belvedere, the pianist at the Spicemaster Indian restaurant is a pal of mine, Karen!!

Linda Smith is indeed much-missed. Just as a 'viewer' (and not a relative) I'm always pleased to see those re-runs of QI and other shows she took part in, and sad to think she's not around any more.

She always used to watch Marty Feldman's shows as a teenager when we were down there, of course being five years old at the time the only thing that made me laugh at that time were the Goodies. I would say Marty was her biggest influence.

Entry to her room was for me, strictly verboten, but she would sit in there doing her studies listening to Neil Innes and the Bonzo Dog band, and the Incredible String Band!

I used to like her work with Jeremy Hardy. Her obit in the Guardian was really touching.

Debating whether to cancel my hair cut this morning (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) The snow has arrived here and it's slushy so lethal on the roads and the drive to the hairdresser's village is over the high road (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Advice please!

p.s. I need to look smart tonight, tomorrow and over the weekend and hubby is currently describing my current hairstyle as a "helmet" (I have very thick hair and I'm trying to grow out layers into a bob (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) )
