I prefer listening to songs in 3/4 to 4/4. Other time sigs are a bit to obscure for me to form an opinion on 7/8 is pretty nice though. As I say this is a pretty silly thread, anyone else have any preferences?

One I really hate is 2/2, why can't we just stick to 4/4.

ps I quite like 5/8, but don't think I've done enough pieces in it to claim it's a favourite. It's quite fun though - to me it sounds like 6/8 in a huge rush!

To play: 6/8. To listen to: quite like 7/8 as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I've come across some bizarre fiddle peices in 7/8. I think it was Russian...or Romanian. It began with an R anyway.

I like 6/8 too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

7/8 ROCKS.

Radiohead's Paranoid Android has some 7/8 sections in it - worth a listen if you get hold of a recording. OK, it's very odd, but makes good use of it.

I've never heard those sections as 7/8. I mean I've never got the impression a quaver beat have suddenly dropped out, it just seems funky.

Yep, they definitely do drop a quaver...it modulates as it leads into the 7 first time round as well - it's only about 4 bars' worth.

I like 10/8 and 11/8. Basically, the obscure ones!
