Hi!
I am an approaching Grade 8 flautist, is it worth getting Smart Music?

YES.

...because Flute and Voice are the two main instruments with accompaniments on it, as well as a large jazz section, and I've got it already, and it's fantastic to play along, and so encouraging and inspiring to improve and so enjoyable. My own personal pianist and orchestra!

For the large amount of flute repertoire on it see:

http://www.abrsm.org/?page=smartMusic/syll...st.html&v=flute

And for advice and impoortant hints on the buying and activating process see:

http://forums.abrsm.org/index.php?showtopic=9900

As you'll see it's a fantastic tool to have at grade 8 standard, as there is so much of the repertoire you can play and learn.

Actually it's not expensive at all - it's usually been sold so far for £70, so this is a fantastic deal from ABRSM, and to buy even three of the accompaniments on CD would cost that - or just one session with a live accompanist.

And I assure you I have no relation to the company!!

Have I understood right that it's £21.99 for a year's subscription?

I'd like to test run it... given my computer's performance with mics, I'd hate to get it and find it didn't work!

Anyway, practice.....

*runs away*

Yes, it's £21.99 using the discount deal either from ABRSM (you need to get/have an applicant number for entering exams to use the deal, or ask your teacher/school for a discount code if they've bought a copy using the deal) or the same discount is available if you're a Flutewise member.

Postage is £2.95, so a total of £24.94, to be precise!

It can be downloaded for free to give it a test run (and you can play a few samples, like a big section of the start of Mozart's 1st Flute Concerto)

For info and activation help, as well as the link (in post 6) for all SmartMusic info/test download info, see this thread:

Yes, I can't see it either on the page they said, actually! (I've phoned the ABRSM to let them know).

The link for a free download is
