Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to get a bow re-haired? Or an estimate of the cost of doing that? Does is take a very long time, or can it simply be a few days' wait?
i'm asking this because i have to go to another country specifically to get repairs done to my violin, and i need to know how much time i'd have to stay and wait. i know it also depends on who is doing the re-hairing...but it'd be nice if i could just get an estimate of the time frame thanks pianochic |

You can get their tel no from their website (footes.com?) and give them a ring to ask this. |

Many places can do your rehair the same day. We pay the equivalent of $17 (US).

I usually ring ahead, then the luthier can tell me which day he could do it in a couple of hours, and which days he is busy.

Handed it in last Tues, collected it today. £32.
(I do hope it's horsehair. It's taking a lot of rosin to get it started). :) |

I've recently for the first time ever tried actual NEW never before used bows, and I was AMAZED at how much rosin they took to get them going, so don't panic just yet!
