Hello to whomever is reading this...
I'm sitting for grade 7 flute, but I'm just not sure on the requirements for some of the scales, specifically the scales in thirds and whole tone scales. (same-ish question for both)

Scales in Thirds: In my scale book there is only F major and G major 2 octaves. Do I have to be able to play scales in thirds on any note for 2 octaves??

Whole Tone Scales: The scale book only has starting on C and starting on C# both 2 octaves. Do I have to play from any note for 2 octaves?

This would be much appreciated if anyone could help me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hi there. You do not have to play scales in thirds and whole tone scales for Grade 7: these are for Grade 8 only. When you get there, the answer to both questions is that you only play the ones in the book. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thank you for your reply! Better to check and make sure instead of not knowing. If it was required for grade 7 and I didn't know and the examiner asked me on the day, I would panic....alright, thanks for your help andante_in_c. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
