Yep - Happy Birthday!!

(But why the odd title for the thread? Why didn't you just call it 'Happy Birthday'??!! And please, don't keep using the word 'lord' like that - I know a fair few people on here who might be offended by it.)

i notice tho that Mr GoneChopin etc habitully writes lord with a small l. that's all right innit it? i think its capital in the title becos the parson changes the initial to a capital. or should we make this another proscribed word [have i spelled that kind of -scribed right?] Im trying revert to using caps but i got out of the habit yonks ago so lord would always be lord to me.

i can always remember alt+66 is B cos i get upset when people refer to the Bible as the bible.

well, yeh!
. . on that lovely poem you printed up there.

sorry about the parson!!! - shall i explain? if no, please jump to "end"!

you see forum rules dont allow jargon but some time ago a computer person talked about the "parser" - that's jargon.

its a little computer routine that looks at a string of alphabetic/numeric/other characters being input to check for things, like swearing frinstance. - it's like parsing a sentence.
it usually changes or assigns things on the fly like replacing bad words with ###s
modern computerers write these routines (which they call objects) in drossy high-level languages which they go to great trouble to make abstruse. me, i do this stuff in assembler which is clear and easy to understand (and results in smaller hugely faster objects).

but i read the post as "the parson must have deleted it" or what ever it was. so when ever i refer to how the abrsm computer alters things, like putting capital initials on a topic title, i reckon it's the parson doing it!
Sorry for my sense of humour.

"end"
:)

hmm, yes there must definitely be something causing such strange statements .

(I found it much easier to do the capitalisation by hand then, no need for assembler, there would have to be a lot of posts before I'd be writing any of that ;). Anyway must be back off to my other window for some nice high-level C++ programming).

I misread your reply as " I do this stuff in assembly" first time round, no doubt with previous snippets of the thread in my mind ...

:P
