Given a choice, looking at what I'm likely to be doing in late October/November, I'd prefer a Sunday over a Saturday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Although I'm not a definite, at least for November, I'd prefer a Sunday too for what it's worth (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I think I'll have to pass on this one but i'm sure you'll all have a great time if you do get together. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If it were a Sunday I'd make every effort to attend (Saturdays clash with my music lessons). I have to admit I'd rather not play Christmas Carols in October....

OK I admit I've got a vested interest because I'm not keen on Christmas music at all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) , but on the basis that we'll all be surrounded by Christmas music from November onwards whether we like it or not, does anybody else think it would make a nice change to have Halloween-type music???? Just off the top of my head I can think of loads of spooky-type pieces:

Sorcerer's Apprentice
Witches Dance (Theodor Kullak)
Danse Macabre
Phantom of the Opera
Ghoulish (Paul Harris)
Faust
Ride of the Valkyries

And then there's peripheral "mystical" pieces like:
Scheherazade
Peer Gynt
Orpheus from the Underworld
Hansel & Gretel
"Fingal's Cave"

And other spooky music (I just want an excuse to play this one cos it's spooky and I like it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))
The spy who went out to the cold (Paul Harris)

Sorry, I've got really carried away here haven't I (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Just ignore me! I'll try and fit in with whatever you decide, even if it's Christmas music and even if it's November (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Teddington shouldn't be too hard for me to get to, so I'd like to come but I don't think I'd be good enough to play anything yet, even by Christmas! Would I still be welcome - I could bring some homemade chocolate fudge?

What do you play Jon, and how long have you been learning?

And seeing as the others aren't online, I hope they won't mind if I take the liberty of saying that I'm sure you'll be welcome to come and meet everybody even if you don't play (especially if you bring anything with chocolate in it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif))
