I played my first note on a violin 1 year ago today. I had my very first lesson on 7/3/09. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif)

I have to say Ive loved every minute!!! My only regret is not been able to have more time to practice (im sure every1 on here feels the same).

Anyway - after 1 yr, 3 violins, 52 lessons & on average 9 hours per week practice - My teacher reckons ill be ready for G5 this year. WHOOP WHOOP

Im so excited but nervous at the same time.

Heres to another great year.

In 2010 I would like to pass G5 practical & theory, get a half decent vibrato & look to join an orchestra (the ones by me accept you at G5 standard).

Best get on and start!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif)

Congratulations, musbird! The hard work is obviously paying off and I hope you really enjoy preparing for grade 5, both theory and practical. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That sounds like pretty good going to me. I have just passed the one year mark by a week or two and will be looking to do my grade 5 in about 20 years. Keep up the good work.

Musbird, MANY CONGRATULATIONS to you, I am always happy to see other 'happy people', I know EXACTLY how happy the violin is making you!
I have had a 'delayed' start, I only practiced very sparingly until recently and it's only been in the past 3 to 4 months I started practicing religiously EVERY day! so now I think my progress will start to rocket too!
