So if the word fiery means "pertaining to fire", why isn't it spelt firey? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Just one of those quaint little idiosyncrasies which make English so difficult to spell! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Went out to get a sandwich at lunchtime. Instead bought a pair of shoes and forgot about food! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Starting to be quite hungry right now and am wondering what would be the quickest thing to cook when I get home!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) An egg sandwich perhaps.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'd have thought that Jimmy Chew would have reminded you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Who needs food when you have new shoes?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Who needs a HOUSE when you have my shoes?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

(Only size 12 actually, but they're big enough!)

Size 12!? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) And you say "only"??

Merely because that's not surprisingly large in this day and age - not when NBA Basketballers have sizes in the 20s. Anyway, they look small enough when I look down at them! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It's just that when I pack a spare pair of shoes/trainers in a bag there's not much room for anything else!

For my height though, they're in proportion. If they were any smaller, I'd fall over!

Actually, I have a pair of wide-fitting size 11 shoes that I wear for playing the organ; that way I minimise the chance of playing two adjacent notes with one foot - not something usually called for when playing hymns or carols!

When Dudley Moore went up to Oxford as an Organ Scholar, he wore the organist robes of the previous incumbent. The trouble was, his predecessor had been 6' 4", whereas Dudley .....

The sight of him might even have induced a smile in Peter Cooke's otherwise straight face, had they met in such circumstances! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

There IS video footage (no pun intended...) of Cyrilla riding a tricycle (when small, not recently) with what APPEARS to be paddles on the end of her legs. But one is mistaken! Said paddles are real, genuine FEET....

Oh dear, you are going to feel quite jittery by the time you get home. The shoes must be really nice to have forgotten about your sandwich.

We haven't had lunch yet either, just come back from swimming and I am now worn out. lol

That was yesterday ET and yes the shoes are really nice!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !! By the time I got home all I could think about was food!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Had to think of something I could cook quicky as my teacher's piano was free for a couple of hours so wanted something filling and quick to prepare before rushing to her place! Opted for a ball of porridge and some blackberries!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Hope you enjoyed your swimming!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Going for a lie down, got a really bad headache, , and I haven't even had a chance to get near the piano yet today. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a storm.

Er, actually, Young-Bag, it's CINE-FILM footage *cough*. No such things as videos in my young day *lol*. And I'm afraid she's right - they do look a bit paddle-like...
