Finally.....results have arrived online. 1 distinction grade 1 flute, 1 merit grade 1 violin.

Very pleased (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) , especially with the grade 1 violinist's result. I found out at the end of April that they are moving to England & I felt that she was capable of (& it would be a good idea) if she got grade 1 before she moved away. She's been part of the group I was "helping" in school but came to me privately for the 1st time a week before the closing date for entries. It's the first time I've put in an entry when the child has only just sightread the pieces. She worked really hard (though I realised 3 weeks before the exam that her mum hadn't actually explained she was going to take the exam!), so I think her merit was well deserved. And my own got a distinction, with the best mark being for Slave Dance so I assume my accompaniment wasn't too bad (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

O: 26 DuDu; 27 Slave Dance; 26 study, 18 scales; 19 sightreading; 14 aural :-130.

A relief to know that it was the right decision to put the violinist in for the exam. It's hard to know what the right decision is 6 weeks before the exam. And she really did only have 6 weeks between starting the pieces & the exam date.

Count me in ! I thought I was just being pathetic in my dislike of that particular accompaniment, so nice to feel I am not alone . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) My grade one flautist got a merit. Congrats to your daughter.
