Weber's Grand Duo Concertante. Clearly you're in a clarinetty mood (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Yes, just having a binge on clarinet music - I have the Julian Bliss EMI recording lined up next, then Maximiliano Martin's Lutoslawski Dance Preludes and a CD of British Clarinet Concertos: Paul, Horovitz, Woolfenden, Bush, MacDonald, Cruft, Ridout on the White Line label. (I'm preparing solutions to Further Maths papers on mapping from the z-plane to the w-plane - the music helps!) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Messager's Solo de concours.
Didn't get around to listening to it this morning - too proficient at working through my maths, so had more music than sums to soak it up! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Oh, it's just finished, so on to the Sonatina by Horovitz - fun rhythmic last movement for the pianist! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Surely that's the same as Nemo's Daywish - to be reunited with his parents! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) |

Vivaldi on Radio 3 - from his L'Estro Armonico. The current concerto is also one that Bach transcribed for Organ: Concerto in D minor, BWV 596. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Now they're playing one that Bach transcribed for harpsichord. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Bach's motet Jesu, meine Freude on Radio 3. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Earlier we had Handel's Dixit Dominus with Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata rather oddly interspersed between a Bach Cantata and this motet! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Think I'll visit the 'Insomniac's Place'. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
