What made me very very very happy today was the electricity coming back on tonight!!!

I was wrapped in two blankets reading a book with candles and my head-torch when there came that wonderfully reassuring clunk of the power coming back after 12 hours off. Even the log fire wasn't enough to keep us warm.

Snow is 3-5 feet deep now but spent three hours digging out the house and my car so hope to get out tomorrow although we were well prepared and not short of supplies. (Nothing else to do because of the powercut (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) )

Tired, warm and fed now though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

A brilliant piano lesson is what's made me happy, twice as long as it should have been so I guess he enjoyed it too :-D showed my teacher the comments from Teddington as there were so many about what he has been nagging me about, ie tone and touch, and he was really pleased :-) Feels good to show him how far I've come since he's been teaching me, as I think he's wonderful!!

Bet that must be a relief. Having next to no power for 3 days last summer wasn't good...

My mum informed me today that she MIGHT be taking Shan, my stepdad and I to Egypt next month, while the weather's still relatively mild over there (meaning about 27 degrees...)!

My face was like this: (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

Then this: (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/party1.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Of course, I'm probably getting my hopes up for something that might not happen...

Awwh, has Barry's clari (see what I did there? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)) been poorly?

You mean like Fran's piano!? Or indeed Clavi's cembalo - on the other hand! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif)

I wasn't sure where to put this (scream thread was tempting!) but settled on here in the end....I'm supposed to be playing recorders in the cathedral on this Tuesday (ie 3 days away). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) It had been mentioned by someone in our group a few weeks ago, but I hadn't heard anything more since so half assumed it wasn't happening afterall. Also, now it turns out that we're supposed to be actually playing a piece as well as just accompanying hymns, which we've had a grand total of about 10 mins practise for, so will be basically sight-reading. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif) If all goes well, it should be a great experience though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hope it goes really well, Sarah. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And you have all tomorrow to practise, don't you? Playing in the cathedral will be a wonderful experience.
