try to use more of your wrist instead of your whole arm.....the pain in your arm maybe shows that you are using your arm

And keep relaxed - a lot of pain and problems are caused by being too tense in the muscles.

It's best to relax your arm & not 'bounce' too much. I had a bit of trouble when starting to learn the staccato scales but as long as I'm just moving my hand & not my arm then I'm OK.
