(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Hello (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I am trying to learn Freeway in grade 4 which is a boogie woogie piece. I am finding the rhythm difficult and trying to learn it slowly like the other pieces I learn. Do you have any hints on trying to learn this type of music. BFN Mike |

Well learning slowly is ok, but try to get away from that as quick as possible so you get the real speed and feel in your fingers as soon as possible. Do you have the CD for the piece? Have you tried getting the rhythm from the first 4 bars with the left hand only, then trying to put the right on top? In such a way that the left hand is on 'autopilot'?
Of course, not being able to read music doesn't help for the exams, but as I say, it's Jazz, and there isn't any music (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Dan |
