Hi everyone

This is not the note I wanted to end/leave on, however many things recently have just become too much for me and I would rather leave. I was also going to go without too much of a fuss, but I felt that certain things needed explaining, and certain people deserved a proper reason. Please do not ask me to change my mind, it will only make me feel worse than I already do. I also expect that this will be deleted and my username taken off asap tomorrow, so please pass on my best wishes to anyone who cares I’ve gone.

This has been something I have been considering for a while and it has finally come to a head this afternoon.

I’ve been here for 2 years, and have made so many good friends, some of which I’ve met and hopefully will still keep meeting up with, friends who have helped me through more than just musical problems. However, the time has now come for me to move on. The forums, as a lot of you will know, are not how they used to be, and I know many people preferred them in those days. I will be asking for my ID to be de-registered completely, so if you do not already have my e-mail address and wish to have it, you can get it on my profile tonight, or ask Helen.

The thread about me earlier this week is not the only reason I am leaving. That has now been sorted out. I was given an apology and it was accepted.
However, I have an objection to being blamed for people de-registering for good and for everything that has happened of late – that is the impression I have been given from people in higher authority. I am not trying to act like I have done nothing wrong. I am not trying to say that I am a nice person and I am not trying to say I that I have had nothing to do with the problems of late. What I do object to is finding out that I have been severely punished and others, who have also broken forum rules, have not. I know this for a fact.

The time is right for me to go, because the person I like to see myself as being i.e. fun, can enjoy herself and have a laugh etc is not really the person people want to see on here if I get carried away. I do not see the point in me trying to pretend to be someone I’m not and be scared of posting incase it annoys someone and then I get put on pre-moderation for eternity. I want to be myself. If that offends people and gives the impression to others that I am immature, rude, insulting, opinionated etc then I don’t deserve to be a member of this community any more, and I need to go. Many people feel that I obviously treat this place more as a chatroom than a discussion forum. I did not intend to treat is as such and I apologise if my short and useless posts have annoyed anyone, which I know they have. You’ll be glad to know that there won’t be anymore. I am sorry that my posts have offended so many people and I am sorry if they were considered rude and insulting.

I have enjoyed most of the time I have been registered on this forum. I have received so much support, especially over the last week; it has really made me feel like I am liked as an individual. Thank-you for all the help and encouragement I have been given when I was doing my music and academic exams. I know I am not an easy person to deal with around those times of year lol.

If I named all the people who have supported me so much over the past days then I would end up forgetting people and people would get upset. However, I do want to thank Helen, SteveHopwood, Appassionata and YAP who have tried to keep my spirits up recently. They are not the only people who have helped me so please don’t get offended if I have not mentioned you!
Thank-you for all the supportive PM’s I have had as well.

I wish everyone good luck in their music exams this year, and in the future, I hope everyone does as well as they deserve. Also, good luck to everyone doing important academic exams, and I wish that all university applicants get into their chosen universities- yes Helen that means you getting into Bangor!

So finally, I have not particularly enjoyed writing this post, nor am I thrilled at leaving, but it is the right decision for myself and the rest of the forum.

Thanks for everything.

~ you never know, if I am feeling brave I might one day make an appearance at a concert as a member of the audience…….

Nat

PS - I am aware this is nothing to do with General Music, but just felt like posting it here

Good bye. Though you probably think I'm over the moon that you're leaving or whatever, I just wanted to end on a positive note and I wish you all the best for your academic future and your plans to become a teacher. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Bye Nat. Sorry it had to come to this. I hope that life brings you everything you want it to.

Make sure you've taken down all of the details of people YOU want to keep in touch with as well.

You already know my sentiments, but can I say how lovely I think this thread is. It shouldn't be pulled by the mods - it should stay as a reminder of the other side of you that has probably been overlooked in the recent melee: very eloquent, considered, self-aware and loved/respected by the majority of active users on this forum.

Best of luck saxy!
