I think it would help if you understand how the scales are built.
A bit of theory could be useful. Also get to know the sound of major and minor scales. |

ok if you really are having trouble remembering the scales then just pick one, practise that and when you can remember it every time (and consistently every time) pick another one, only add the third when you got the the hang of the two every time, and build up like that even if it takes a few months to get through all of them. It sounds more like you are panicking than anything else so just take it easier :)
How did you handle the grade one scales btw? |

Yes, Natalie's right - there ARE more than 5 scales for Grade 3 (9, including the chromatic) - unless perhaps you're doing a different board? Anyway, think yourself lucky - when you get to Grade 8 there are more than 40 scales to learn, plus all the arpeggios, dominant and diminished 7ths etc!

yes, but by then most people will actually understand how the scales etc. are formed which means that you are not really having to 'remember' every one individually.

No there are 8 scales, 1 chromatic and then all the arpeggios
here are the scales just in case you dont have them:A major, Bb major, Dmajor(all one 8ve) F major, Cmajor, G minor, A minor and Dminor(all 2 8ves) minors in melodic or harmonic at your choice) chromatic on C and then the arpeggios for the scales hope this helps |
